How Many eCommerce Sites are in the Top 100K of Alexa?
Ever wondered how popular some websites are, but couldn't figure out how to check this information? This is where Alexa Rank comes in.
Alexa Rank is a global ranking system which ranks millions of websites in order of popularity. Their algorithm calculates the estimated average daily unique visitors and number of page views for a given the site over the past 3 months (90 days). The website with the highest popularity will be ranked as #1.
Even without previously using Alexa Rank tool, you can guess which company is the most popular. I'll give you a hint, it rhymes with doodle.
Marketers, content writers and many other professionals would use Alexa Rank to get insights of the performance of any website, as well as absorb information about a company. Think about the insights you can get on your very own competitors!
Using the SalesOptimize App, I was able to check globally how many eCommerce websites have an Alexa rank lower than 100K. This is what how I did it:

The App shows a list of all of them below, including the domain, website technology, payment & shipping information, email addresses of the people working there and much more. But let's not stop here. I'll add another filter to find companies based in US only.-----------
In this video I added United States as my filter. Withing seconds the app showed me that there are 11186 eCommerce websites with an Alexa Rank between 100k-1. the list of websites is shown below and I can view their information within a click of a button. I played around with the country filter and here are some interesting stats:------
